Nike Brazil 1970 Book

Our Role*: Concepting, Art Direction, Design + Illustration**

This book launched more than one obsession with the Brazilian soccer team and the magic those boys have possessed over the years. Mexico City. World Cup. 1970. This was the setting of the story we built this book around: A young (obsessed) soccer fan creates a journal documenting his journey as he follows the superstar Brazilian soccer team to its momentous final victory against Italy. Limited to an edition of 5, we hand stamped each of the leather covers, designed plane tickets, stadium tickets, gum wrappers, stamps, photographs, “magazine clippings,” and had our friend Patrick Long handwrite and illustrate it. So good we had Nike CEO Mark Parker believing it was authentic and purchased on eBay.

*Completed at Makelike, while Topher was a partner there.
**Illustrators: Patrick Long + Justin Hawkins
